close.......... your first guess was on spot! though it is a snow goose (blue morphed) otherwise known as a "blue goose"

was with a friend today when we spotted them and fortunantly I had a spotting scope handy and stuck the little digital camara up and got a few shots.. Not a very common bird to see here.

i will be snow goose hunting next week up on fir island. this will be my first snow goose hunt and it should be a good time. do you got any advice?

be patient and cross your fingers   the birds have been pretty much using the south side of fir island road for the last few weeks. They are bound to start shifting around a bit and if they do you should do OK....Our paths will prolly cross next week, I'll make sure and say hello. What unit do you have assigned to you?

i got 13b next week, my partner has another unit the following week lots of hunting in the near future

I hunted Skagit Bay for years and never saw a blue phase snow goose; dark, immature snows (yes), but no true blue geese. I've shot both in North Dakota.

Hey there "Y" Glad ya joined up, great little site here with a ton of cool stories, pictures and stuff.. Hope Doug has a great time and look forward to some pictures on here.
