My son in law and I have permission on some private ground down on the Palouse River and we struck gold. Day one we saw 7 bucks 4 shooters, we sat on a huge bedded 4x4 waiting until dark for him to stand but he never did. Sunday we found 4 shooter bucks all bedded within 100 yards of each other. My son in law was able to take his with a 25-06 at 311 yards and mine was 275 with my .260. Now, these deer were actually bedded approximately 10 yards from one another but for my Son in law to get a good view of the vitals he had to take the shot from a different angle that's why his shot was much further. The plan was for him to take his in the bed and when mine got up hopefully he'd present a shot. He shoots and flops the deer and mine just stayed bedded sort of looking around wondering wth was that noise so I shot. The elapsed time was maybe 10 seconds. I've hunted this property my whole life and never had a weekend like this before. Just an epic hunt, one that will be hard to duplicate. Mine was a 4x5 with a natural hole in the right side beam. His is a 5x6 with a split brow on one side and a sticker at the base of the other brow but look at the color!! What an awesome deer!! Posted a couple different pics of each just so you can get a feel for the body mass of these Palouse river whiteys. They are just huge.
