Heard some scrapping behind my house while laying in bed last night.  This guy was chasing a doe this morning. Bad pic; screen shot from the video

Here's one of the bucks I saw yesterday evening. Taken from hundreds of yards, pardon the low quality.  He was sniffing (flehmen/lip-curl to expose vomeronasal organs- definitely testing the pheromones) and chasing does around.  :)

Second pic is a slightly more junior buck a half mile away, also chasing.  Again, sorry for low quality pics.

Jeez Mark, wish I had the Palouse tag this year. That first buck is good 'un!

Thanks, Eric, I sure was excited to see him.  The bucks like this guy are starting to venture out from their dense thickets of hawthorn and pine!  It's exciting to watch, even though I'm all done for the year.

19 slicks and 3 dinks last night, all seemed agitated and jumpy.

Wife just showed me we have taken 3 bucks here on nov 12th......2012, 2014, and 2016

Make that 4 bucks and add 2020.  Had one of our target bucks where we wanted him at 415 tonight, but due to the high level of activity with other deer in the way and jumping around like elementary school at recess, wife had to pass off to me as she wasnt certain she was going to be able to get it done, very glad she opted out and I was OK with tagging this one.  Good solid meat buck.

Private land, buck was there to scent check the girls for sure.  Before he got there, the dinks (5) tonight were aggressive with each other and the does.  Few more days and it will be full blown.

I took today off, back at it in unit 1 tomorrow morning.  Hope i can break this streak of dink bucks and find a shooter tomorrow.  Lots of snow coming soon to chase me out of the mountains.  Need to get it done.  With the impending weather ill take a decent whitetail or muley, either one is fine.
