What a stud old beast. Way to stay with it. I wouldn't feel bad about the way you had to finish him. He didn't get that old by being a wimp. Maybe he identified as a bull elk.  :chuckle:

He ended up getting up and I had flashes of stories I have heard about wounded deer goring people and such. Cause he looked crazy POed and was only 15 feet or less in front of me

Another good reason to carry a sidearm.
