I’d spend 1600 on the SLC’s before I spent a grand on Razors..  :twocents:

Yes in my opinion. You can find Razor HD's under $900 if you shop around.

I have the 12x50 Razors and they are great.  The edge to edge clarity is the only issue I notice, but they are definitely a solid set of binos.

I had the 15x50 vipers and they were ok. If I glasses a lot they would give me a headache. I looked through the new razors and they were nice but I made the mistake of looking through a pair of 15x56 Swarovski SLCs. I ended up saving more money for the swaros. I can glass for hours now with no headache. On that note go with what you can afford. On the other hand once you have the best you never have to wonder about the rest. Lol

I find the Razor glass to just be ok.  When Vortex first hit the market it seemed they were the best bang for buck but feel most of their stuff is over priced.

This.
I compared the razors and the vipers when I was shopping around for binos.
Edge to edge is better on the razors but not worth the price difference.
If I could afford it id go swaros but that's for later.

Btw I went with the viper HDs and they've served me well

Agreed.

I spent some time behind Vipers, Razors, Zeiss and SLCs. It’s not a comparison. I didn’t think vipers were worth the money over the Diamondbacks. I didn’t find razors to be worth what they want for them(even at 900). The Zeiss binos weren’t bad, but the SLCs just popped. They can be had used or open box for a good price if you watch classifieds like a hawk.

Ive got the furrys. I have a friend with the vipers hd and another friend with the razors. They are all a 10x42. The furrys are better then the vipers and realy close to the razors. If you have vipers already i would say save your money. If you are looking for a new pair i would also say get the vipers. There is a point where you just need a spotting scope. Or realy good glass on your gun.

With all the Swaro recommendations, I'll say this... unless you're able and willing to shell out the $$$, DO NOT look through Swaros. Once you do you'll want them. Don't think I've looked through SLCs though, but I do love my ELs. I don't care for Razors myself and I really tried to like them before buying Swaros.
