Looking for access to ANY public land for late season archery
« on: December 28, 2020, 07:20:20 PM »
I am really hoping someone may know where i could go for late season Archery.  I drove around unit 407 all day today unable to find a single access point.  I have never hunted Western WA and would really like to try and get a deer this year.  I am willing to go wherever I need to that has somewhere i could camp then hunt.  Please feel free to PM me if you can give me any help at all.  Not looking for anyone's favorite spot, just somewhere i could go and hopefully harvest a deer.  Thank you.

Not everywhere

Black-tailed Deer2020 Dates Nov. 25 - Dec. 31Game Management Units (GMUs) 407, 410, 411, 412, 413, 414, 415, 416, 417, 419, 420, 421, 422, 454, 505, 564, 624, 627, 636, 648, 652, 654, 655, 660 through 672

If it were me I'd head to GMU 648 or 624
There's places to camp and gated roads to walk in hunt
Be mindful of Meth head thieves so watch your gear
read the signs for access to the timberlands
Good luck

Thanks, ill take a look at these areas. I had no idea it was so difficult to find somewhere to hunt on the West. A major bummer.

I have Onx, and know where the public land is at, but I cant get access. Everywhere I go in 407 specifically was blocked off.

There are plenty of "access points" in 407. 99% are gated due to trash dumping, timber theft, logging equipment vandalism, etc....  I get the impression  you're looking for a road hunting opportunity??? If so, you're kinda screwed I'm afraid.

Also, as someone else indicated, if you elect to camp or leave your vehicle at a gate, be advised that there is no shortage of scum that are looking for an opportunity to snatch and grab. Dont leave anything valuable
