Canadian Primers?
« on: January 05, 2021, 10:47:30 PM »
Anyone trying to buy primers out of Canada seems they have them in stock everywhere but I can't find any that ship to the US dont know the legality of it. I will be calling my Canadian friends tomorrow if I can't find a place that will ship. Anybody have experience  or knowledge in this?

Propellants and Ammunition

To acquire, store or sell propellants and ammunition, you need a dwelling, storage unit or explosives licence, depending on the quantity and type of explosives being handled. Anyone handling explosives must be at least 18 years of age or older unless otherwise exempted by the Explosives Act and Regulations.

OK, now you have my attention.  I assume it would be difficult to buy them and drive back with them, but the question is how difficult would it be to set that up with customs?

You cant even drive into Canada right now unless it is essential travel.

I would pay $300/k before I tried importing or crossing the border with ammunition components.

On a trip to see the wife's family. I stopped in at Cabelas and Wholesale Sports both had ammo, primers and powder during our last component shortage. I could not buy without the proper permit or a BC Hunting license. The prices were the same as here but the exchange rate was 20% that would have made even better. At this time you cant get across the border. The even stopped the brother in law coming down to help my wife when their mother passed in November.

You cannot bring primers, powder or ammo from Canada without first going through ATF, you'll need to become an importer, then you can get the proper forms.   ATF 6a.

(not going to happen)

And that doesn't address the hurdles Canada places in front of you, which wadu1 talks about.
