Muzzleloader suggestions....

Looking for a new muzzleloader.....so let's open up the floodgates and get this great debate on.  I looked through the previous years post but thought maybe there are different options given the changes in the laws here in Washington.  I currently have and love multiple Thompson Center Black Diamond XR's.  They shoot great and really are all that I need, but what the heck, can a guy have to many options? 

Because I like my current Thompson Center Black Diamonds.....I was thinking and very interested in the Thompson Triumph Bone Collector.  From what I can see, it is now legal is WA....is this the case?

What else is out there that is reliable, easy to maintain / clean, and most of all accurate!!!  It has to be a 50 cal also. 


While we are on the subject, what is good sight for longer range shooting?  I currently shoot the williams WRS peep with fibre optic.  I am very interested in the williams peep with target knobs.  Is there something better?  I am good to 180 yards with my current set up so not looking at crazy long yardages but definitely out to 150.

I have a Black Diamond XR, but really like my lightweight CVA Optima.  They are easy to clean and a easy to handle mountain gun.  The XR is pretty dirty and a straight shooter, but I hardly use it anymore. 

On my Optima I have a Williams peep.  Nothing fancy, but It shoots 200 if I can hold it steady.

In my very limited experience... I'd have a hard time not getting a CVA ACCURA V2.

With blackhorn and 209's it flat out shot. It was very easy to clean and maintain. Again it was loaner and I'm in the market to eventually get one because I enjoyed shooting it that much and felt extremely confident very soon after shooting it a couple of times.

I'm sure there are other who are also on par or better than this but with NW legal requirements I can't really justify buying one I can shoot at 500 yds with all the bells and whistles. Now if it were for a wide open state and all that then I'd look into something else perhaps.

I shoot the CVA Accura v2 50 cal. The only thing you can't use in WA is a scope and I guess that's being argued . I shoot a Speer Deep Curl 300 gr bullet in a Harvester crushrib Black sabot pushed by 120 gr Of Blackhorn 209 powder fired by a CCI 209 mag primer. at an average of 2034 fps. It works!

Something you should consider is the type of action you prefer.  I have had several bolt action style muzzys and I like the way they handle in reloading in the field for a follow up shot.   I also like the way they break down for cleaning.  You can completely remove the barrel from the stock and that makes cleaning easier.  I also have a triumph and have had several other break action muzzys. Reloading in the field in my opinion is more time consuming.  Especially with the trigger guard latch system to break the action. I much more prefer the bolt action system. Very difficult to remove the barrel from the stock and action on the TC Triumph.  Therefore you end up having to clean it all attached and awkward. If you have never shot and cleaned a break action MZ, see if you can borrow one for a day before you put up $500 to own one.  Just some thoughts.

I'd take a look at the Remington 700 Ultimate Muzzleloader....If you can find one!

2400 ft/s velocity with 250 grain projectile is crazy, especially if they allow scopes in place of open sights.
