Yesterday was a rodeo. Snowmobile caught on fire right out of the gate. Got it out before all was lost but then we had to get it back to the truck and then shuttle all our gear with one machine and a single sled. Late start but pulled a jumbo on my second fish. Wind was pretty unpleasant and the cold flat nuked our drill batteries so we had to really throttle back our exploration. All in all it was a fun first trip. Im excited to get back there with what we have learned. Total we put about 50 perch on the ice, with 4 being jumbos. I lost two trout at the hole that were absolute slabs which was absolutely heart breaking.
You should be able to suspend the transducer in the hole with the use of some pool noodles and a little bit of foam rope and a couple of tye wraps. It allows you to adjust the depth of your transducer to get just below the ice and is easy to pull up when fighting a fish.
Yes it is. But shows idea of the pool noodles. Not sure how it floatin in the hole would differ from bobbin around in a boat 🤔People also build a tripod with an arm over the hole to suspend the transducer.
