Waterfowling East of the Snoqualmie River

Wondering if anyone has any advice or knowledge on ducks east of the Snoqualmie river. I scouted some pockets of public east of the river between 90 and hwy 2 a few times this season but never saw anything despite the spots looking very "ducky". Same thing with a few spots out hwy 2 east of Monroe.

Question is: do they not venture out east of the Snoqualmie river valley at all? Is it an elevation thing where they want to stay in the low land? Don't want to waste anymore time out there if it's common knowledge (that I'm not aware of) that the Snoqualmie river valley is the eastern border.

ahh..no idea. But curious to know did you go for the hunt?

Birds are mostly in the valley when it floods.

Too many farm fields and planted crops for them to the west for them to venture that Far East I imagine. There is a couple really big duck hunting clubs around Snohomish/Monroe attracting them there plus all the other corn fields I’ve always guessed.

Just scouted, never hunted. Found a ducky looking spot east of the river and sat on it a few times in the AM and at dusk. Never even had a fly by...I assume since it's a little higher in elevation than the valley it's colder and they're not interested.

Also always thought it was weird as soon as you head out of Monroe on 2 all those fields that flood never have ducks in them.

Depends where you are east of the river.  Lots of clubs and private hunting grounds along that river.  From  Snohomish Valley, Duval to Carnation.  Lots of spots the birds fly to.  I hunted a club in Duval two years ago and would watch a ton of birds flying overhead.

Yeah I was thinking a little more east, out of the valley. This particular spot is at 600' of elevation east of Duvall vs the valley which is like 0'. I wanted it to work out because the pheasant release lands were so overrun and hard to duck hunt. But now I have a boat so less worried about finding some secret honey hole pond.
