2018 F150 2.7 Eco-boast.I think it's in "Limp Mode". Shifting is totally hosed up. The wrench Icon is on with a message "shift mode not available - see manual". Can't find that in the manual. I got a service appointment but not until next Friday. Can I reset this by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery?Any ideas on what the cause could be?
You might be able to clear whatever it is, but it'll just go back into whatever limp/safe mode as soon as the truck identifies the problem again. Also no appointment till next friday, like 2/12 next friday? Oye...lightweights...Bring it to me, I'll look at it Wednesday. PM me with your VIN #.
Do you have another vehicle you can drive? If so, have Ford roadside tow your truck to the dealer. IME they tend to have a tech look at it quicker if it is sitting on their lot. I went through this with an ‘18 F150 that I had issues with.
I have one if you want to borrow, well broken in and proven.https://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Ranch-Products-100063928-Squirrelinator/dp/B0046VJ8RUI haven't found a trap for the lovely neighbors that feed them peanuts though.
To follow up, I got this into the local Ford service dept. and they did a great job working me in without an appointment. They determined the problem was caused by rodents chewing on some of the wire bundles. Best guess is squirrels because they left a bunch of peanuts behind. They are fixing it as time permits. Est. four- or five-hours labor, of course not covered by warranty. I guess I can’t blame it on Ford. There will be retribution on those responsible.
