You know some Tuna guy is gonna put four of those on the back of boat so he can get to the Tuna faster hahaha

And when he gets rid of the inboards, he can add an extra fuel tank and an expanded ice box.  So he gets there faster, chases them longer and catches more of them.

This is one of the worst marketing videos for a product I've ever seen.  It's like an intern fresh out of business school wrote the script and had a bet with his frat buddies about how many business buzz-words he could get the top brass to say.

I think if you had an issue it would be easy enough to bring the outboards to center or as close as possible and throttle steer.

Gotta agree with that Skillet.  It reminded me of a high school science fair exhibit -  Cool motor, let's go to the next booth and see the baking soda/vinegar volcano.

You will quickly see these in the Florida market, spend the money getting other people to rep the product.  I would think 90% of these go to south Florida on $750K+ center consoles.  The old triple 200's can be replaced with a single which is likely more fuel efficient, almost certainly less to maintain.

Probably a good option for swordfish charters and those with fat wallets that like to go fast.

I think it's gonna be a great engine, with some quirks and problems to work out for sure.  Being a naturally aspirated engine and still calling it a Verado is a little odd, but the simplicity of the induction relative to the supercharged engines is a plus.  Putting 600 hp in the water on a single lower unit is going to mean real fuel savings.  Charter guys with 30'+ boats and long runs will be all over these, IMHO.  We'll know the durability of the lower units pretty quick under those conditions.

Seven Marine was a one-trick pony.

These days, more companies die from irresponsible debt than product problems.  Just look out there, anyone manufacturing anything having to do with the outdoors has never seen opportunities like there are now.  Remington is a good case, if you can't manufacture arms and ammunition in a profitable way in 2020, you should be out of business, it's not going to be much better and there will be much worse years.

I think seven marine only offered two products, though, a 560?hp and 620?hp.  Product idea seemed sound, probably just overestimated their market--which over the last four years with such low gas prices probably should have been great for sales.    Mercury has the benefit of having a more diverse product mix, so I'd guess they can string it along a little more efficiently.

Agree, there are some supercar and superbike manufacturers out there that can seem to do well on low volume output.
