Drew my tag. Drew it last year also but ended up giving it back due to COVID. Now waiting on WA to see if I can do a double on spring bear.

Wow some significant increases in applicants of Oregon residents in the spring draw.
  • 2021 saw a 37% increase in applications for spring bear in Oregon
    • First time ever the number of 1st choices exceeded the number of tags available in 100% of units.
    • Thus there were no 2nd choice points were awarded.....normally at least 500 tags in SW OR would go as second choice....instead there were 950 guys that didn't pull a SW OR tag as first choice.....  Similar issue in South Central and other units.
760T was a 100% draw for youth for 20 years as there were always more tags than applicants, and was projected to only have 26 applicants for the 52 tags....my buddy's daughter didn't draw the tag unfortunately, which sucks as we built our spring bear plans around her pulling that youth tag.  But it surprised the heck out of us she didn't draw it.

Crazy to see that level of increase of 37%.  Non-residents are capped at 5% of tags and they were already pulling their allotment in the 75% point draw, so any increase from NR was irrelevant to the resident allotment.  This was a massive increase in resident applications.  Am curious to see if a similar bump happens in WA and other states this year, and if it repeats for the fall big game draws......
