I own both the bighorn and the Accura v2 nitride. I prefer the Accura by far. Way more well balanced. And mine has a front sight on it from the factory! I installed a peep rear and a Lyman front.  The CVA also can shoot Blackhorn 209 powder the bighorn cannot.

Thanks for the heads up.  I just ordered two of them.

Thanks Cal.  Unfortunately they do not have any Accura's in stock.  However CVA does for a touch more $ but free shipping..  Local shop had one so I was able to put hands on, but was not setup the way I want.  I was literally on CVA shopping sight now placing order when your msg pinged.  I am also ordering a BH breech plug plus pieced together a NW kit as it seems 209 primers are pixie dust.  That way I can use old school primers for now.  Got that tip from the guy at store and plan to buy consumables from him.

Planning to put Williams Peep rail on it plus a globe up front so it will be ready for action in all states and not have to alter/remove peep sight to go from scope to peep.

Any starting points would be appreciated.  I’m gonna be playing with a few new bullets and trying both pyrodex select loose powder and bh209.   Super excited to see how the new bullets perform.

Well done deal now.  Bought direct from CVA along with misc parts plus a hat and decal.
https://cva.bpishopping.com/cva-muzzloaders/accura/accura-209-ss-edge-50-ism.html

Also bought parts so that I can convert it to run BH209 as well as complete NW conversion so I can run #11caps and pellets since 209 primers and BH209 are impossible to find.  Also means I can hunt ID/OR.

I planned to buy a Williams Ace in the hole rail. Though it sounds like the Eabco might be a better option to match up with a front globe and have enough adjustment?  I am hearing different reports, some say The Williams fine, some say it is not tall enough and has to be shimmed?

I have the EABCO rail/peep with a Lyman globe on my Accura V2 and didn’t have any issue with getting things adjusted. I really like the setup. I used the factory sights for a year and used a ghost ring for a couple years. The peep/globe setup is the best option for precise aiming.

awesome great to hear.  Sounds like the Williams unit is hit or miss for elevation.  Did you have to use multiple pieces for the front sight like one of the peep sight walkthru's says?

If your using the Lyman it should come with different inserts, I use the post. I bought the EABCO rear. My load is 84 weighed gr of BH 209, a Harvester Crushrib black sabot and a 300 gr Speer Deep Curl. Fired off with a CCI 209 primer. NO swabbing between shots necessary. The first year I used 77 weighed gr of the 209 and Win 209 primers. Worked fine too. Blackhorn will be out again shortly. Watch Graf's and Midway and others. I buy 5 lb jugs, it works out cheaper than the 10oz bottles. The .452 Deep curls are deadly!

Yeah, I had to get a separate ramp for the front globe. I used this 0.100” height ramp.

Thanks for the info!  You run the 300grn for elk or just deer?  209 primers are impossible to find right now.  that may be tougher to get than the powder these days.

Both, deer and elk. You can find the primers, there out there. And that's what you need to fire off the BH209.
