Had a 2000 Tacoma TRD for 16 years that I tried my hardest to break, especially back in my younger days. (In high school we once jumped it over 80 feet, the landing caused the front of the bed to cave in the back of the cab quite a bit from the flex) definitely no frame rot in that bad boy My BIL did buy one a few years ago that had extensive frame rot covered up by a shotty dealership, certainly there are bad batches of almost any brand out there (you should see the amount of recalls you get in the mail for owning a Dodge!)But there are also millions of absolutely bulletproof Toyotas out there that have withstood many many years of abuse that a vehicle should never have to withstand such as mine
Notice the mandatory foglights for driving in traffic in the suburbs.Whenever I see over-wattage blue LEDs scattering into oncoming traffic, it's a Toyota 'LOOK AT ME!' driver.https://youtu.be/7gfPL0e1IIY
Hope you didn't want a truck when you bought it!The Rago Fabrication Toyota Tundra Bed Channel Stiffeners solve a known problem that Tundra's acquire over time. If you have a camper shell, bed rack, or use your Tundra to off-road frequently, the rear sheet metal channels are known to crack overtime because of added stress and weight to the vehicle.https://youtu.be/glPAW6C6JHQ
LEDs for vehicles are bright white. Xenon bulbs are blue. LEDs also have a tighter beam pattern than filaments. If they shine in eyes, it’s an adjustment issue, simply adjust the housing as required by any bulb replacement other than like in kind.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have to be honest, I have never owned a Toyota. I do own a 2016 Nissan Frontier, and after test driving all of the available midsized trucks in 2018. The Honda Ridgeline was "by far the most comfortable", best layed out ergonomically, and with the most current accessories. I thought the worst driving and most gutless was the Tacoma. The Brand new Toyota's transmission was a shifting nightmare and was gutless compared to the 2016 Nissan. (not that the Nissan changed much in the previous 10 years)But The Tacoma was the best looking truck in the bunch.I bought the Nissan because it was third best driving, behind the Chev ZR2 and the Honda (the base line Chevy/GMC were not close but ahead of the Toyota). The New Ford Ranger was a tie for third. These are opinions and are totally subjective. And I am not saying the Tacoma is bad vehicle, and if the Leaf Springs are the only things to worry about? They would still be a very good truck.Honestly, what is beyond belief, is that people pay $40k + for any of these trucks, when two years later you can get them with low miles for 1/2 that much. Except the Toyota which was an easy 10K more.I personally do not think they are worth 10K more, but that is the market, and people are paying it.None of the above are worth 40K +
