Do coyotes eat apples?
«
on:

I put some apples out to see if anything was around. Got a couple deer and a lot of coyotes. I think it's time to get the foxpro out.
Thinking about it
got it
I will take another one.
Can you tell if a buck is going to be a nice one by looking at his bases? Looks like he has some nice bases to grow from.
This new cuddeback rocks.

Good looking coyote... especially for this time of year.
A good friend of mine lives up in Ferndale... he throws apples out by his trail cam all the time and has several pictures of coyotes snatching apples too.

Yes on the coyotes eating apples, berries, grass, etc. As for telling how big a deer is going to be by lookingat his bases. . . .NO. You can get an Idea and maybe mass at the base but won't be able to tell if he will just be a big 2 or a 4 or just a 2 with tiny crab claws, etc.

Nice pictures, interesting the coyotes like the apples. . . I've never put bait out, I had no idea! Looks like that buck'll be a good one. He's got nice pedicles.

deffinantly some good pictures......ive never seen coyotes eat em infront of me, but i have seen lots of scat with it....apples, apricotes, plums and what not....
And the deer......not to sure but he looks like a younger deer from what i can tell...that or maybe just not eating alot right now......Ide keep watching em and see if he fills out anymore, if so he might be older.....otherwise i think its probably a young 2 or 3 year buck. Doesnt look very old though

Growing up, I shot several coyotes that were eating cherries underneath the trees...
I think they will eat anything that does not try to eat them first.
