I don't read it that way. I read it as you can legally hunt anywhere in GMU 162. However, the state is warning you that much of GMU 162 is private land. You can hunt on any public land in GMU 162 on which hunting is allowed, or on any private land for which you have permission.
they didn't know what they were in for nwhunter
I guess what he is saying is he wants to put in for a Unit he knows nothing about besides all the big bull talk and wants to put in for it , do your homework and look at the maps. Its not hard to outline a map and find your public hunting grounds. RESEARCH!
there's a lot of private farm land in 162 too. i don't see whats so difficult to understand.
You're right. I wasn't sure where it was down there or what unit it was attached too. As far as I know its no admittance ever, that includes shed hunting or shroom picking. I know that some folks hunt the boundary religiously hoping for one to come out.
t says the tag is for GMU 162. The Umatilla National Forest and Rainwater Indian ground is in 162. Next to Dayton A it has a little C right next to it which is a footnote that reads: Private lands; access is extremely limited. If you cannot secure access to private lands do not apply for these hunts. So does that mean i would only be allowed to hunt private ground? if that simplifies it at all.I believe Dayton city hall has a list of names of people that will let you hunt their land , You just need to contact them.
