Dog is mad at me...

Went out on Long Lake today. Saw geese (50-100), ducks(three flocks of a couple dozen), etc. but no one, except a merganser, wanted anything to do with us.

GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...I am not liking this big lake hunting.

Does anyone know of small ponds and such where I could go for some jump shooting and or set up my usual quick and easy grass and 1x blind. I really want to blast some ducks, and the dog has to get something soon on these boat trips or he'll bail next time I go.

BTW, if any of you like to fish Long Lake the place is going crazy with big carp...I'm thinking of going fly fishing there instead of duck hunting. Some of the ones I saw today were longer than my arm and about as big around as my calf.

The ducks just don't seem to be here yet in the Snoqualmie.  My next door neighbors hunt off of their own property and I haven't heard a gun go off so far this year. Most Sat. and Sun. in November sound like an artillery assault! (music to my ears!)

My dog is mad at me too. He's been wearing an Elizabethan collar the last few nights to keep him off a small leg wound. Figures I'm playing some weird game with him

what part of long lake do you hunt?  if you don't mind me asking I thought there were to many house's out there to hunt. I have only been out there a few times fishing, and we were up by nine mile resort. just wondering, might be a nice place to go out to close to home.
