Another High Buck
« on: November 09, 2007, 12:38:28 PM »
This is a photo of "Crabcreekhunters" 2007 High buck.  It's snapped back on the ranch about 30 hours after I hiked in with him on his annual 24 hour ironman marathon power hunt.  His baseball doesn't allow much time for extended hunts, so we partake in this annual sadistic pleasure with the goal of taking only 1 buck and being back home by breakfast the next morning.  Two other good 4 points were left walking since our rule is to take one.  I'll then hike back into the wilderness alone if and when I can walk again.  You might tell by the look on my face that I'm not feeling very fresh.  Our mountain photos of "Crabcreekhunter" with the deer are to big to post.  Can you tell where that ranch is located in Washington?

Great buck.  My guess is Almira?  That is a wild ass guess though.

Right through the boiler room 509er.  Did you use a range finder to get that distance or what?  Can't say I've figured out who you are just yet.

I think we need more of a story on a one day power hunt to the high country.  Dang nice buck though.
