Second bear tag?
« on: June 23, 2021, 11:28:46 AM »
I filled my spring bear tag last month and I was looking to pick up a second bear tag.  I don't see it listed on the website as available for purchase.  Anyone know if they add that in closer to the opening of the general season, or does one need to go in person to a dealer?

I believe it gets added July 1st.  Pretty sure that is the date…..but yes it does get added after the spring bear season.   Not sure why they do it that way.

Gotcha.

My guess is to keep someone from shooting a spring bear, notching the tag, putting it all in the freezer and going after a second one!

The second bear tag shows second bear tag on it similar to 2nd turkey so you might aswell not tag it if that was your plan. So Maybe they do it because so many people don’t know the laws and will think they can buy a second spring tag if the option was available.

During the fall season can you have 2 tags in our pocket and shoot two bears, or do you have to harvest one first, then buy second tag....
Thanks!

No need to fill your first tag prior to purchasing your second.

Yeah I’ve definitely bought my second one before I filled my first one. Not the case this year since I actually drew a spring bear tag and filled it
