I did have the fever this year. I would really like to make it back over later in the season one of these years. Someone needs report how the birds are doing now that the hens are nesting and the snow has receded a little bit more. I used my Backwoods custom call a lot this year. So did my dad. I find that I don't intimidate them as much as when I attack them with my reeds. I think we took two toms with that call. Just a sweet hen waiting in the bush for some tom to find her.
It's funny how fast my brain switched to elk once I got back. Better tune up the bow.

That being said, it is a hell of a lot easier to hunt with someone for the day if they are in camp with you sipping some whisky then trying to plan to meet on appledumpling road at 4am with a bad cell phone connection. Hint hint.

My Bro and Nephew banged off 4 birds this weekend. I hope to get out next weekend for the FIRST time. I have 3 kids in baseball/softball and have had 5 -7 games a week. I'm ready for Ol' Tom to hit the forest floor
