Im on my second Radrover, just picked up a new one in April. Took it to Oregon on old logging roads and got about 17 miles with 25% battery left. I do wish it had a bit more power. Takes about 7 hrs to fully recharge.
I have had my Radrover for a year and a half or so and have over 2000 miles on it now. Large majority of the miles are from cruising logging roads. I upgraded the motor and controller from Bolton E bikes and it has more power than I will ever need. With the new controller you can crank it up to over 1600 watts. I have it set where the max power is approx 1100 watts and its perfect for how I ride. I had it cranked up to 1600 watts and was pedaling and hit 34.8 mph and was passing cars on Main Street in Monroe. I went on a 27 mile ride up around Wallace Lake last week and still had a little battery power left when I got back to my truck. The new 35 amp controller and 750 watt motor is roughly $500. My next purchase for it will be the 52v 21 amp hour battery from Bolton. I am still using the original battery.
I watched the same videos and that's what got me to buy the Bolton upgrade.
I was looking at an ebike, it had internal hub gear shifting 5 speed, no derailer and a belt drive! It was a 1000w mid drive

I don't think that the US forest service would put up "No Ebike" signs. It goes against Federal classification of a bicycle. If it's Federal land I would check with the forest service and make sure it's not just some Ebike hater putting up the signs.

Slight thread hi-jack incoming.There are getting to be more and more senior citizens tearing around the Tri-Cities bike paths on E-Bikes. Fat ,Santa Claus looking guys aged 65-75 with the wives in tow. They speed all over the place, their Santa Claus bellies not being a problem with the e assist. Little bicycle helmets, perhaps a small dog in a basket on the front or back.The other day the wife and i and the dog went for a walk in a nature area. Our walk took us back to the bike path which runs parallel to the freeway. There, lying in a heap, bloodied and knocked unconscious was one of these Santa Claus look a likes. It looked as best i could tell that he had over inflated his tires and the front tire had popped off the rim and jammed between the front forks. Like grabbing a handful of front brake he was down before he knew what happened. We called 911, not knowing if he was going to wake back up. He eventually did a few minutes after we found him,...thank God...no memory of his crash.So you old guys and gals be careful out there on your whizzer bikes eh?

There's a lot of fake signs out there.
I would much rather have an ebike pull up to me on a landing than a truck.
