I pack a Kowa 554 over a Swaro 65 these days in the backcountry. Significant size and weight difference. Try one out.

my budget is about 1500 but could do more for the right glass. buy once cry once ha this will probably be the last one i buy for a long time so i dont have a problem spending a bit more for something quality that i will be happy with for the next twenty years

Nikon ED50.

 :yeah:

Those little Nikon ED50's are pretty darn good spotters and for something small to stick in your pack but still has very good optics the ED50 is a great option.

Kowa 553 or 554.  <2 lbs.  Check out reviews on rokslide, etc.

I have the same. Compact, light, and pretty darn good little spotter.

Me too.  No problems with it.  Been really useful, and a good size.

Wouldn't trade my Kowa 554 for any other spotter. The ONLY option for ounce counters who still need top tier performance.
