AZ Coues and Desert Mules
« on: September 11, 2021, 07:08:28 AM »
Going to be hunting Az for the first time this winter after moving down for school a couple years ago and finally settling permanently last year. Anyone have experience archery hunting Coues or desert mule deer? Right now my strategy is stick to tanks and water sources, but I'm not sure how much that will matter as the weather gets cold late in the season. Any strategies or advice you guys have would be super helpful. I grew up hunting archery Blacktails on the coast but this seems like a different game all together.

Sitting water works if it's been dry and there isn't much water around.  But my strategy down there has always been spot and stalk.  It's just way more fun.  You'll blow 95% of your stalks, but all of them are fun.
