Nisqually Closure Oct 1st??
« on: September 14, 2021, 09:25:12 AM »
Anyone else hearing about this?  Heard rumblings from some that the tribe is pushing to close Nisqually and some others early again this year.  Silvers seemed to be a decent run from what I've heard, I don't get it.

I would guess that water levels are too low. With no real rain in the foreseeable future either.

Yes. The fish struggle a lot more to come in. They also
Get triggered to run up the river once it rains. Without rain the fish spend more time in the salt and don’t run up as far. Also the river water temps might be higher due to lower water levels and this makes it a lot easier to stress fish out and a lot harder to revive them. After the last few years of bad water levels this time of year I think our future runs are going to be really really bad. Salmon like to spawn on gravel beds. Most of which are out of the water right now.
