Sea duck lead

Hi,
I moved to Washington a little over 2 years ago. I have had fun getting into the ducks and geese but just learned I was not taking advantage of the opportunity for sea ducks.

Anyone will to teach a transplant how to get a Harlequin duck and other sea duck? Willing to travel.

WWA is a good organization. Ive made friends, learned a lot, and had unique experiences because of my membership.

Watch some videos of sea duck hunting on Youtube. It is really easy when you find out where they are. Scoters like shallow bays where they can dive down and get clams. Harlequins are harder to find and spots are kept behind zipped lips, but they like big rocky areas. Sea ducks come a little later in the duck season. You hunt them using about 6 long lines spaced roughly 8 feet apart with about a dozen ducks on each long line. Put your boat at the end of the long lines. The decoys can be the crapiest decoys in the bag it does not matter. They are dumb. Bring lots of shells for swatting cause they are tough suckers and will dive if they aren't dead making them hard to retrieve. Number 2 steel shot minimum.
