Turkey Down !
«
on:

Well , ive been out three times this year and been into birds every time . Lots of pressure this year in Cle Elum
. But this morning the birds were very vocal . I have been chasing a big one and trying to get him with my bow . Could have had him with a shotgun twice and was starting to have second thoughts about bow hunting but decided to stick it out . Well this morning i saw him with another nice one on the edge of a clearing gobbling there asses off . We snuck in to about 100 yards put up a hen deke and gave some soft calls . 5 minutes later i see one sneaking in so i draw back . About 30 longgggg seconds later he came around the corner and saw the deke , went into full strut , I figured he was 25 yards and i center punched him . He did a flip , ran 10 yards and then piled up . He weighed 18 pounds with a 8 1/2 inch beard . This is my best bird . I dont think i can ever hunt with a shotgun again . The big one is still out there
