Turkey near Spokane?

My 12 year just received his hunting license and looking to take him Turkey hunting. We live in Spokane and want to see if there’s any areas around us within a few hours that are good for turkey. I heard Cheney is good. Any  suggestions help! Thanks!

Congratulations to your boy. What part of Spokane are you in? You can literally go north, south, east or west and find them. I would suggest looking at getting permission to hunt private land. They are flocked up right now and a lot of land owners hate them. If you can't secure permission find a piece of public land near by and try to get them patterned.

I would also get in touch with the First Hunt Foundation, they do turkey as well as big game hunts.

Just wait until the late hunt for deer is over and then cruise up to the Hunters vicinity. You'll see more turkeys than you can carry ammo for and many of the land owners will have no qualms about letting your son shoot one or two or three or four for that matter.
