Cool mount! Did you have it mounted in RSA or is this from the taxidermist in Texas?

This is Jerry Huffaker's work out of Abilene Texas.  Great guy to work with.  He has been sending me in-progress photos as he went.

Can't wait for it to arrive.

That is a very cool mount! I usually don't care for Zebra Mounts, but that is awesome. I bet you can hardly sleep, waiting for it.

I was not going to shoot a zebra when I went over.  It was not even "kinda" on my list.  But at the lodge I saw a pedestal mount and after looking at it for a few days decided I really liked it.  That and after deciding not to shoot a giraffe, I had extra money in the budget.

I'm very pleased and I think this may be my favorite mount of the whole lot.

The hartman's mountian zebra have that brown face, and a bigger head which I think makes for a much different look than the typical Burchell's zebra found in the plains.

Let's just say that there is going to be some pretty intense negotiations with the spousal unit over the next few weeks.  She is not as enamored with all this as I am.  The full body warthog will probably generate the most lively of the discussions...

Well I have never been that impressed with Zebras.  Figured I'd take a tanned hide or something, but thats probably the closest to getting excited about a Zebra mount as I ever have been.  Its not a hollow compliment when I say that is awesome.  Warthog??? well I'll let you debate that one. LOL

sounds like it's a good thing you decided against the giraffe.

On so many levels...  so many levels...

(one of the levels that I considered a nit compared to the other "spousal" levels, was vaulting the ceilings in the game room so that my "long neck deer" would fit.)

I still want one, but I want to hunt one as a true hunt.  The ones we looked over were more like pets.
