Cell service along 410 doesn't exist. Hopefully they went up closer to the search zone. I have gotten a signal up on top of the hills.
Just to give an overall sense of this operation:There have been more than 70 searchers out every day, sometimes as many at 150+ on some days. Kittitas, Yakima, King, Snohomish, Clark, and Pierce Counties have sent members of their SAR teams, and I'm sure there have been others I just didn't see. Everette, Seattle, Olympic, Chelan, Tacoma, and Central Washington Mountain Rescue teams have been out as well (I would not be surprised if Volcanoes and Inland Mountain Rescue have also sent folks that I just didn't run into. If so, that is the entire state's complement of Mountain Rescue teams). There have been helicopters from JBLM and various county authorities searching every day as weather allows. TMobile, Verizon, and AT&T have all set up emergency cell towers in the search area. King County ESAR also deployed mobile radio repeaters. I can't even count the number of dog teams (both cadaver and live search), ATVs, drones, and other various resources that have been out in the field each day. Major credit to King County Explorer SAR for most of the planning and operations resources, and to Seattle Fire Department for the bulk of the manpower. This is not a mission that anyone in the Washington SAR community will soon forget. I just wish we could find him
Yes, I’m pretty sure they flew it Friday with that drone according to an article I read. What I don’t understand is why they haven’t been able to ping his phone?
