I've never driven on Durr Rd., is it doable still to get to Umtanum ridge?

Rough road. It also gets a fair amount of snow this time of year.
A remarkable experience is one where the pain is forgotten so quickly, the frustrations and struggles are forgotten the minute you’re done.

I can’t wait to do it the next time.

Have good tires. It is rough, not a snowflake on it yet to my knowledge and I live next to it.  You might encounter some mud

I used to hunt Umtanum canyon a lot down Durr road, but it's been a few years since I've been down in there. I was there about a month ago in a smaller "city" SUV with regular tires. I was surprised at how bad the ruts were and turned around down at the first hairpin. I encountered some guys on quads on the way down and they had just been down there. They said it was fine for high clearance rigs but the road on the west side of the creek heading uphill was kind of dicey. Have fun. By the way, most of the land east of Durr Road appears to have suffered badly in the fires this past year. There doesn't appear to be much cover for birds.

Chucks are there, lots of quail, pheasants are almost non existent.   I don’t think they released any either.  That I don’t know
