Best moveable vacuum sealer
« on: December 06, 2021, 08:30:21 PM »
My trusty Foodsaver is on its way out. I've packaged thousands of bags of meat, fish, veggies, etc... Lately though, it hasn't been fully evacuating the bags. Anyway I'm ready to upgrade. I would love a chamber sealer but I need to get something that I can move around and take with me on trips. What do you guys have that you highly recommend?

New seals most likely will fix the suck, but new is better.

New seals most likely will fix the suck, but new is better.

Or you can go in and adjust how hard it pulls, at least you could on my circa 1999 Foodsaver.

My son got this one for free at the First Hunt Foundation hunt and it's awesome.  For the price and size it goes to town on the 30 or so bags I've used it on so far.  It locks on the bag so the process is hands free once you press the button it does it's thing.

Super compact and easy to take on trips.

I've considered working on it, and I may do that to have it ad a solid backup, but I'm ready for something new. I'm not opposed to spending a couple hundred bucks on one if it has great reviews. I haven't heard rave reviews for the Cabelas commercial models. The higher end Weston ones seem to have a good following.

I have the Cabelas after years of Foodsaver.
It has a nice removable foam seal that can be easily cleaned.
Short of a chamber sealer I'm not sure how to one up it.

I've ran the Vacmaster VP215 for several years and taken it on several trips. Wouldn't change a thing.

 :yeah:

I've been very happy with the Cabela's Commercial-Grade sealer.  Sometimes I wish I would have gone with the 15" over the 12".  I also prefer the Cabela's bags over the Foodsaver bags as well.
