Suggestions/opinions
« on: January 11, 2022, 07:20:24 AM »
So probably going to get gobs and gobs of info on this but I am looking to get/find a tack driving super accurate 22LR in either single shot or bolt action that I won't have to take outca second mortgage on the house to buy. Preferably under 300.00 ( ok that might be a pipe dream) will add scope and other accruitments as needed later

Application? I've seen some Anschutz rifles around. Many schools ditched them and the shooting programs.

Application best be left unsaid except accuracy out to 150 yards needs to be extremely dependable.Be nice to find a used Anschultz somewhere as those are what we used on the HS Rifle team back in the day in the 60's

If you can find an Anschutz for that money buy it or I will.

Not joking.

I have an Anschutz Sporter and it's boringly accurate.
So are the CZ 452s I own, although the trigger required a $10 trigger kit and 30 minutes of tinkering.

Don't discount older American .22 rifles as tack drivers, and they can be just as accurate as new rifles. I have several super accurate .22 bolt action rifles from the 40's & 50's. My favorite is a Remington Model 721-T. It is the proverbial tack driver and I paid something like $300.00 for it.

as long as you torque the screws that hold the barrel on correctly, it'll drive tacks....as least my 10/22 does

I got a 10-22, I couldn't ever really enjoy shooting it like a bolt rifle.

My 10/22 with a 30rd mag will eventually drive that tack.

:yeah:
Same here my CZ457 Training Rifle is very accurate. As for auto loaders my Remington 597 outperforms any 10-22's I've owned.

I've seen a lot of old Remington 513T and had a few which were "tack drivers" but finding one now days is hard to do.  I've seen Ruger 77's very accurate in both 22LR and Mag.

Good luck on the hunt jingles!!
