first day update, well i was able to locate a couple toms last evening, got in early this morning. i heard at least 4 different ones. i got set up on a ridge just up from where id heard 2. some soft clucking and purring brought in 2 jakes. i waited it out til 8 and made a big circle around the valley where i had heard the others. setup on and old log skid and did some blind calling. got a reply after about 20 min. bird worked into maybe 80 yds i could not see him. he went silent so i did too. i waited quite a while then some cows came up the skid lol. so i tried a couple other spots and came back to camp for lunch. heading back out here soon.       more to come     strut

day 2 update, SCORE. well after turning up nothing in the afternoon and evening yesterday . i tried a new area this morning.i worked my way out a ridge line to listen for gobblin. heard nothing. waited for light and dropped down into a valley. i made a few calls and a tom thundered back very close . i ploped down right there. and here he comes on the run. never stopping i could barely keep him in the scope dumping him at like 10 yds. 9inch beard 3/4 spurs im guessin bout 17 lbs. just finished cleaning him up and gonna pack up camp and do some sight seein on my way home. once again thanks or all the good info guys.     strut.     ill get some pics up soon

congrats...i dig these update from the field threads...
