Best long range shooting rangefinder???

Got my son fhe 8k since I had the 2400abs.  Definitely increase in range ability.  Bummer to hear basemaps may be wuestiobable but probably be fixed in an update or maybe onx map.

I have the leica 32pro binos with that feature will be testing that shortly.  They do range over a mile on trees I’ve tested that.

i was going to grab the 2400abs, but after quite a few reviews regarding the basemap functionality, im sticking with my sig2k until they figure it out.

2400ABS doesn't support it and is discontinued.  The 8k is latest and greatest model.

Apparently the compass in the rangefinders was designed to just be good enough to compute corialis but is not very accurate.  The basemap remote marker is really an arc if you range it a few times.   sucky.

The 10k is the new flag ship for sig

The range finder doesn’t actually set the mark.  Just the distance from you.  You have to use the phone’s camera to actually decide where the mark goes.  Thankfully you can adjust it after the fact but what a pain.   In some situations it could be help full and others just down right frustrating if not useless

You can use basemap with bluetooth rangefinders using your phones compass like in Jasnts video.  The latest Sigs use the compass in the rangefinder instead for a more seamless solution.  BUT apparently the built-in compass in the Sig is not so great so either way so its still early tech.   

The Sig 10k is their Binoculars.  Wish they weren't so clunky looking.   I went with the Leica Pro 32's, 4 oz lighter.  But might change my mind - have had very good luck with the Sig 2400abs.

I know the OP said they weren't interested in RF Binos but since the Sig 10K's were mentioned here's a pretty good right up and review of them and if any of you know Shawn then you already know he doesn't sugar coat things at all so these 10K's may be worth taking a look at.

I’ve been running the kilo 2000 for years.  This year it crapped out on me.  Called sig and warranty was up, but lady said hey… I’ll give you 40% off any range rdf in stock.  Settled on the 5k.   Loving it so far

You lucky dog!!!   I also had the kilo 2000 and loved it.  It was about 5 years old wrote it started giving me grief.  I paid full price for the 5k  and so far have been plenty happy.   

Really wanted the br4 but just couldn’t justify the cost for the type of shooting I do.

I too have the Kilo 2000. I've had it for about 4yrs. Hopefully this isn't the year it poops out. But with all this rangefinging talk, I think I would entertain the Kily 5k or the Vortex 4000.

My experience with 8k vs Revic.
Pros.
8k has a great screen to look at. Numbers and letters are clear and easy to read.
Longest range so far is a building at 3517yds.
Ranges targets relatively quick at 1500-2500 in most conditions. Mostly I just hold button down till it captures.
Phone app is easy to use and sync.
Has been very consistently accurate with its ballistic solutions to 1000yds maybe good for more but haven't tested much past that.

Screen not as easy to read as 8k.
Picks up targets a bit easier (faster) I think than 8k.
Seemed to work better in for than the 8k. 600yds vs 450yds in my test.
App is good.
I think they both work great and will give solutions farther than anyone should be shooting animals which is why most people buy them.
Can't go wrong with either
