Is it wrong?
« on: May 12, 2009, 07:59:44 PM »
I lost my buddy a few weeks ago and am planning on getting another chocolate lab. I have always wanted a chocolate lab with the name Hemi.
Is it wrong to name my next one the same?

I know there will never be another like him, but i have a delema. This is a name i have kept in my head for better than 20 years.

Some have suggested calling him H2 as in Hemi II, but i like Hemi and feel kind a bad about it.

Thanks for you input.

Pete

I had my golden retriever for 14 1/2 years his name was Lunchbox, he can never be replaced in my mind so in my opinion that name will never be used again. So I now have seymour I came home one day he was in the yard and I seen more than one dog so hence the name seymour.

I doubt you are going to lose the memory of your last dog. I think re-using the name is OK.

I think the name of your dog is personal to you. If you and your family don't find it strange to name your new dog Hemi then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Do what feels right to you. :twocents:

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog but wouldn't a better name for the new dog be "powerstroke" ;)

Yeah.  I have felt way too *censored*ty after putting down a good dog to flip you any .. grief.  Good luck with the next pup.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

How bout 454?  It's a gun and a Hemi.
Your dog man... name him what ya want.  I don't think there's any disrespect in that.  You could argue that it honors your old dog.
