Federal Premium Terimal Ascent

   I just picked up 3 boxes of the Federal Premium Terminal Ascent 175 grain in 30-06.
Has anyone on here used these? From my studies, they look to be:
*Accurate
*High Ballistic Coefficient
*Great Energy
*High weight retention
*Good Expansion
*Flat shooting
Just wondering if anyone has used them first hand? Going to shoot up my Hornady Supeformance SST 150 and make the switch to these Federal Premium Terminal Ascent 175.

Haven’t shot a critter with them yet but they shoot very very well out of my Bergara .300 win mag

going to try these soon in my .308 win. Also have them in 130gr for the 6.5 creed. The only gripe I have heard is they are not as easy to tune for accuracy in handloads. Just like any factory ammo I would try it in your gun before you shoot all your SST

I bought some for my browning in 270wsm and it didn't seem to shoot them as well as others.

No experience with them on an animal.  Just didn't shoot well but may give them another try at the range since I have a box and a half left.

Haven't used any yet.
Pretty sure they have an all copper shank,with a lead tip.
Kinda like a partition,except partitions have two lead cavities.
These have a all copper bottom end ,with lead in the tip to start expanding. Like best of both worlds.
Lead in tip to expand,copper shank to send it through.

Hopefully they fly better for you the next time out. Maybe the high speed of the 270 WSM had something to do with it?

The controlled expansion, high weight retention and ballistic coefficient is what caught my eye. I'll be at over 2,000 FPS and 1,550 pounds of energy at 450 yards. 450 is my personal maximum shooting limit, and I like to stay over 1500 pounds for bear and elk.

Not lead tip.

They do have lead in the terminal ascent and the trophy bonded.

It's not really new technology.
Nosler BT hunting bullets all have a chunk of copper on the end of the shank .
Just federal added a bit more is all ,more like a 50/50 mix of
Lead and copper.

I guess my post is misleading and all over the place.
It doesn't matter anyway ,as a reloader I haven't seen any in stock for awhile.
I did think they was a little different with 50/50 lead / copper.
I lose interest pretty quick with nothing in stock.

And just to throw it out there all these new tips are just a gimmick anyway ,My tip is better than your tip .
As long as it expands on impact ,don't care.
