2022 Huckleberry A late drawn.
« on: June 15, 2022, 10:00:31 AM »
Just drew the late moose huckleberry A. Any suggestions? I've never hunted the area. Ive packed out a lot of elk, so im not afraid to go deep to find anything.

Best tag in the state right now in my opinion. Hope for snow and then be ready to deal with it.

Congrats on an excellent tag. Don't have info on that area, but looking forward to hearing how your hunt goes. My dad shot a moose last year in a different unit and the meat was delicious.

Your elk work will help, now double it!!!  Add in temperature issues as you move deep, great tag!!

the most effective way to hunt moose is to drive and glass cuts. May sound lazy.

Yup if you can't glass up moose in the cuts.
Moose are the easiest to glass. Stand out like a sore thumb.
Buddy of mine got an early tag.
Good luck but I don't think you'll need it.
There out there.

I have to agree ,looking in the cuts is gonna be your best way to cover ground moose hunting.
Most times you can spot them without glass.
Only thing that sucks about that option is the price of gas.

I know a few guys that would be more than willing to help you out. They are in the Huckleberry daily and pretty much have names for every moose in there. They have helped many people fill their tags. They don't charge a penny just love being out there and seeing people have success. Not a outfitter or guide.
