going to be at lake roosevelte second weekend in june fishing and hopefully catching some walleyes mainly a steelheader and new to walleye any suggestions as far as setups that seem to work in june there thanks

i believe just above the dam but honestly not sure i am going with some friends and have not really talked much about it besides lake roosevelt we usally camp at the spring canyon area though

My favorite way is using jigs. You can also use bottoms walkers with a spinner of some kind behind them or crankbaits/Rapala's. Good luck they should be biting good then.

I'd still be trying to find flats from 10 - 40 feet and feel out where there hanging and then really work that depth.  I like a bottom walker with a double whammey in orange, yellow, or chartreuse. Then put a big crawler on the end of the double whammey.  Drift along the flats or motor mouch real slow. Good luck and have fun.

Later on try to find points coming out, ledges, the edge of weed beds and other good ambush points for a predatory wolf to ambush its prey.  Thats where they will be.  Oh, also the 200 other places I forgot to mention.

I was over there a month ago in Swahalla Basin ane the lake was way up. Hopefully they dropped the level some!!

They did drop they water way down but now there bringing it up about a foot a day or so.They didn't drop it as much as normal for some reason.

phantom gobbler our boat will be the boat to beat should be a good time over there i usually dont have much of a problem catching steelhead but when it comes to walleyes i tend to stink hopefully will catch the big fish of the weekend anyways

The second weekend the females will still be in less than 25' of water, and at first light as shallow as 4' I like to cast motor oil tube jigs in 3.5" against the shore and work them out slowly. I will also slowly troll my jig in 10-14' of water slowly bouncing it along the bottom until about 10 am. At that point I usually work out to about 18' I have picked them up past that but you usually tend to get the males or as I like to call them cigar walleye. If you want to use a bottom walker I like 3 ounces, keeps it from tailing back, and a chartruse or orange walleye spinner with a snake of a worm, I even tip my jigs with worm. Look for bays that turn into flats. If you can find a little rip on the edge of them you will do good if its not to deep. If you have any questions PM me.

Where on the spokane arm are you planing on fishing? I haven't hit the spokane arm yet this year cause my other spots have been producing good. I might give it a try up there this weekend. I can imagine that they are biting good up there too, on Jigs, bottom walkers with spinners and crank baits/rapalas, Good luck and catch lots

Up the Spokane River...Buoy 5 is biting 15-25 jigs..A buddy of mine caught 17 the other day...I limited up by Enterprise on Friday..Also up river by China bend is pretty good right now....Lots of eaters.  Lat week of May we caught a few eaters up there...

Thanks for the info Yelp.  Couldn't seal the deal on a longbeard this year, but maybe my luck will change with walleyes!   

Not sure where buoy 5 is, we will be camping at the Ponderosa boat in.

I am in a white Lund..Lots of those..I meant 5 mile buoy..The river has lots of trash and wood debris..be careful.  I heard red spinners were working and purple headed jigs..worms.

Going to have to get over there and get some of those, just spent the last four days on Banks caught quite a few but could never break the 16 inch mark on them.  Oh yeah and caught a total of 146 smallmouths also

Lots of dinks on Banks right now..the punchbowl the last 4 days has been really good.  Most of the walleyes are being caught shallow..under 15 ft.  Lots of smallmouth biting right now.

yes on Banks I was at barker flats, caught all the walleye in 8 feet or less water. Was still fun to catch them, caught them mostly drop shotting.

We had a good trip to the Spokane Arm this past weekend.  We caught eye limits both days using jigs, tipped with crawlers in variable colors.  Trolling blades and crawlers was also productive.  Fish generally were shallow from 3 ft to 20 ft.  Largest fish was 22 inches.  Lots of 12-14 inch fish made for good eating.  Should remain good.
