It’s been a while since I was there but I only found fresh on the boats.  You kind of have to ask around the marina to see which ones just came in.  The shops only had frozen.

I’ve gotten lucky a couple times and bought right off the boats.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Yes, thats what im going for . It used to be no problem finding boats to buy from and alot of times could even get the Captains # and tenative fishing schedule if you wanted to preorder.

I dont have any of the old contacts that I used to use and the last few years I havent been able to find anything fresh while ive been down there or any reliable info on where to get "slush" packed fish.

You can order some through the seafood connection in Westport if that works for ya...

Sometimes charters/ commi guys will do last minute dock sales but rarely because of the demand for tuna..
I'll do some checking around.

 Thanks for looking @fishngamereaper.

Yes maybe my brain is just stuck in the old days (10 years and before). As im sure you know what it was like .

But even 5 years ago it seemed there were options for good fish . The last few years I havent been able to turn up anything reasonable for price/quality .

But then again what is these days .

Does it have to be Illwaco? If not, these guys sell canned and fresh tuna in Westport.

Not sure where your located but I’ve been buying it from Kerbys fish in castle rock these last couple years.   He had a fresh or frozen price last year.
