catfishing

my 76 year old dad wants to go catfish fishing the 1st week of june. i told him i would get on this site for some help. he'll be over by lyon's ferry, fishing from shore.can anyone help with what kind of bait,hook size, leader length, size of lead, river access,hook on bottom of rig or lead on bottom with hook above? me? i fish for salmon and steelhead alot but never done the catfishing.thanks for some help           jeffrey vegas

I'm surprised nobody caught this.  A bunch of the guys from this site (myself included) are having a meet and greet catfishing trip at Lyon's Ferry the first weekend of June.  Here is a link to the thread that gives the details.  Hope to see you there!  :hello:
