WA Pheasants Forever
« on: August 24, 2022, 06:20:32 PM »
I'm renewing my PF membership for this year, but would like to get involved with the organization beyond just signing a check over each year.

Anyone have info on habitat projects/youth hunts that the chapters in WA are working on, and how members can get involved? I understand COVID may have paused a bunch of plans, but it seems hard to find any details on what is currently happening. I've checked the website for events and reached out to the contacts listed with no response.

I live on the Westside but hunt the Eastside almost exclusively. I have 2 GSPs, one NAVHDA UT Prize III and finishing up AKC Senior Hunter. The other is 8 months old and showing lots of promise for this season. Would be happy to volunteer or guide a hunt if there's an opportunity.

The president of the Spokane Bird Dog Association is also the president of the East Side Pheasant Forever chapter. We just recently had a skeet shoot fund raiser and a clean up. I haven’t seen anything else posted recently but can give you his contact if you’d like. DM me.

That sounds like a lot of fun, and the type of activities I’m looking for. Maybe I should have joined the Eastside chapter.

I’ll send you a DM, thanks!

The Puget Sound Chapter meets all summer at the Sumner Sportsmans club, (shoot a round or two then a meeting) and they have a few work parties a year on the east side, planting trees and shrubs, working on irrigation projects and such. If that is the one you joined they send out a couple emails a month about the meeting and the work parties as well as the banquet. Best of luck finding the activities you seek .
