It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

Look at the smile on that dog!! LOL. It is like he is saying OK now give it back.....all you did was pull the trigger, lol.

Great pics.

Nice bird.  My son and I saw quite a few around Colville while deer hunting.  Looks like you are using a Browning A5.  I have one and love it too death.  Very reliable.  Good job and good hunting!

Keep your eyes on the ground for sheds.  You are in good shed hunting country.  Congrats boys for the bird.

No sheds. We went back into the Palouse and trolled around. With the stronger winds the birds seemed a fair bit more skiddish. Got a few shots off but one bugger ran up behind me and I couldn't swing my body around fast enough to finish the deal. Saw a few ducks as well. Still had fun but no birds today.

Gus had to take a break today as his belly was really raw. Gus was really excited and pranced around with that bird for a while  :chuckle:

I bought that shotgun with paper route money when I was about 14 or 15. Served me well ever since. I finally got it threaded and bought some Hastings chokes. There are marks on the stock that serve has fun memories.

Fall bird hunting (waterfowl or upland) sparks so many memories that I find it overwhelming at times...grandfather, uncle, cousins, but more than that. It's a feeling of freedom, a release from the everyday routine and a visit to the other world of scent, sights, sounds, feel, and an inner peace that I don't get all the time with other activities.

Being with Huntwa and Pacyew is always fun. Both are of the same mindset. We like to harvest and eat game but the "being there" is more important than anything else.
