Hear stories of people using pepper, but I am curious what the best way is to keep the bees, and flies away from your elk meat while processing it in the backcountry? Early elk season is known for the black flies and bees, making processing tough at times, and then when it's hanging with a bag over it, keeping the flies from laying eggs on the bags. Looking for something that works, and easy to pack in?? Thanks guys.
From my experience, black pepper works pretty good for flies, but didn't discourage yellow jackets.
