Entiat Hunt This Weekend
« on: September 14, 2022, 01:19:45 PM »
I'll be hunting Entiat to close out archery season this year.  I've done some scouting - and I've seen enough in the valley along the river to now look for property for sale someday.  Nice bucks in those private lands and orchards.

In the hills, tough to find them, but they are there.  Any tips for the area are welcome.  Anyone open to allowing hunters on their land, I'm open to that too.  Haven't knocked on many welcoming doors in that area - either they are knocked on way too often, and/or people just love the deer around the area there.  We got an idea of a plan to find them in the hills, on the southern side where the public land is found.

Happy Hunting Ya'll!

A lot of Biden signs up the Valley during the election. People buying land and retiring there that aren't fond of the hunters. Get high in elevation and in rugged terrain.

Deer numbers are on a steep decline. Sure you will see some in the bottoms along private, but up higher they are really struggling. I run some cams up there...... a few years ago i would fill up SD cards with 900-1000 videos in a 2 week period, now I am lucky to get 200 in a month.  :(

It’s a bummer how hard that place gets hammered  through the rut by those that don’t need permits to rifle hunt during the rut. Saw one truck last year at the top of Oklahoma gulch with 2 dead head shot forkies in the back and they were still chasing deer.

Tribal

Should have been more specific. The tribes rifle hunt entiat during the rut. I witnessed this on thanksgiving day. Not to cause a tribal stir but it is what it is.

Yeah, I've noticed that while scouting too.  Getting out of the valley and in the hills is what to do.

That's a big drop in numbers.  I wonder why?
