Utah expo tag bull
« on: September 24, 2022, 03:19:39 PM »
Well my buddy was lucky enough to pull one of the LE early rifle bull tags. So just a little 1000mile road trip down to Utah last week to chase love struck screaming bull . All I can say is wow heavy scrub oak and thick aspen thickets hold a ton of elk.
Well after a couple day we were able connect with this bull right before dark.
After a few pics and a plan to come back at daylight it was back to camp for a few hours of sleep. The following morning the fun begins the pack out.
Due to the scrub out and aspens we had to pack horns up a little secret we did learn walking sticks make good balancing and weight control. So all in all it was a awesome trip.

Beautiful Bull!
The wife and I drove through from Kanab up to Moab, the up to Pagosa Springs, CO. Then down through Chama in May.. I had a hard time staying on the road there were so many Elk and Pronghorn to See.

What unit?

That’s a dandy.

After a few years of being at the show and drawing nothing, I drew a 2021 Pronghorn tag in a year where you could apply online so I’m sure my odds were awful.

Cool show and a cool setup to have those draw tags.

Congrats on a beauty bull!

He drew the La Sal unit.
The Expo has treated us good over the last few years. Our group has drawn a roadless book cliff bull, a Wasatch  bull a Henry deer tag.
