Saw a swollen 4x4 on my property Wednesday cruising for does, I don't think the does are ready yet though.

Typically, there would be some action with the neighborhood deer by now, or I'd at least see some pre-rut action driving the roads to and from work. Pretty quiet in my neck of the woods so far.
Everyone lives off the land.  Some of us simply have more fun doing it.

Just got to Whidbey Island for the closing weekend. Checked my cameras and caught this 3pt. I have a lot of deer on camera, but they’re still nocturnal. This is the only deer that’s even remotely close to shooting time. I’m going to hunt this spot all weekend in hopes of him making a mistake. Going to try calling with grunts, doe in estrus bleat, and fawn bawl. Any blacktail experts on here that have calling advice to pull this guy away from his bed if he’s nearby?

We've knocked down some good bucks the last few days but mostly weather driven. They where all within smelling range of does but not chasing. Some pre rut activity but it's definitely not hot yet...this weekend should be good but I think next week will be prime. For all the quality blacktail tag guys.

watched a video posted this morning (10-28-22) by a high school buddy who lives on north whidbey.  Two smaller bucks were beating the heck out of each other in broad morning daylight.
Introduce someone new to hunting this year.

This guy was going hard today. There’s a hot doe just out of the photo to the right he was chasing.

Good luck this weekend all! I’m hunting all day Sunday and Monday. I’m excited to get in the woods with some fired up deer!

Yea that photo was taken at 0900, from about 35 yards away. He’s just living his best life amongst the human population😂
