Ya

I’ve been working on a new sled, my old one was too small and the runners were broken making for a hard drag

I got a big one now, tows twice as easy and everything fits

Is it not safe to take your snowmobile out on the ice?

Ya, it is fine but my fishing partner doesn't have one

You could bolt a board for a seat across the middle of the sled and let him ride in the sled behind the snowmobile? If you put a hitch on your sled, the type that bolts on the sides of the sled rather than the front of the sled work best so the hitch can pivot back over the sled when hauling. My hitch is attached to the front and won't fold back, it takes more room to haul due to that, I'm going to change it someday.

Getting some kinda skis or runners on the bottom of an Otter sled is a million times better to pull. I gotta get some wax on mine to make it even better.

Just find a wrecked prius or subaru and grab the hood.  they are alot lighter than the chevys that we used to use.

I have Otter sleds and the hitch does suck, it won’t fold all the way back like your picture.

I yank the 2 pins and take the hitch off, when dragging it by hand I use the same two pins for a rope I got that has loops tied at the ends and a pvc pipe for a handle bar to make it more comfortable

What I’m doing now is figuring how to get it up on the snowmobile deck while it’s fully loaded, thinking a little boat winch is in order

Now I got two sleds I can hook together and drag a lot of gear for winter hunts/camps or trapping whatever

Ya, I just don’t want to add stuff to my sleds

Some skis I cobbled up wouldn’t hold up to a snowmobile in the whoops or busting trail hitting logs etc

In my opinion Smittys are ment for man to pull but if you gotta snowmobile for power I wouldn’t mess with the design either. A little friction helps control it.

I don't need a lot of room with mine. But it does have lights.

Back when Skillet was leaving us all behind here in Washington, he was trying to sell a 8x8 Clam pop-up. He didn't get any takers and I have kept it in my shop in South Canada. If there are people who would want to give hardwater fishing a try it could be available locally.

It's just my size KF. Throw a small propane heater in it and I'm golden.
I forgot about that. I bought a pop up to throw on my smitty for short hikes out on a lake. We have a pig of a Eskimo sled shed that isn’t for man power, we pull it with our side by side. How much was skillet asking for that and how big was it?

Without setting it up I think it's an 8x8.

I can't remember what he was asking but I did pay what he was asking.  :dunno:

@Skillet he might remember

Blast from the past!

I think I had $150 on that shelter.

Glad to see it's getting some use Ridgeratt.  How's the fishing in the pasture? Send me a pic of a tanker perch in front of it this year  :tup:

@TommyH

This washer keeps the hitch corners from cutting the strap when you turn

Really worked slick.  Now if I could winch that sled up top without having to unload everything first then muscle it up there I’d be in good shape

(I do have covers for the otters, or they’d be full of snow)

I wanna get that Eskimo rod locker, I think that would lay in there next to the auger and work very well
