Good morning. I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Aaron and I live in Gig Harbor. I have been shooting at Tacoma Rifle and Revolver Club with my boys for the past few years.

My 11 year old has been pushing to learn how to hunt. I decided to build him a coyote gun this winter and hopefully get him consistent next year. We got a Bergara B14 HMR 22-250. I am an avid backpacker and I am stoked that my son is getting old enough to want to get outdoors with me.

I appreciate any advice and hopefully I can talk with some locals about hunting on the wetside.

Cool. Good luck!
Lots of coyote hunting how to videos on YouTube etc.
Calling and baiting are effective methods.
They are pretty nocturnal. NV or thermal and hunting at night can be productive
Have fun and enjoy the whole process with your son.

Lots of threads on  here that can help too.

I did some night coyote calling between the holidays and got a couple more coyotes before the year ended.  #26 and 27 for me.
