New world record mountain goat
« on: January 18, 2023, 10:30:34 AM »
Official new world record mountain goat killed in BC. On display at the sheep show.
This thing is crazy big to where it doesn’t look real.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Holy cow. That doesn't look real. Each horn is over 12 inches. Strong genes in that area. Both of the last 2 world records have now come from the same general area.

Interesting. I just saw a BC goat hunt go on an auction site for $9,000.

It says item was not sold? Does that mean the reserve wasn't hit?

Maybe, or the buyer didn't pay. I'm not sure why it would have been referenced as "Sold" if the reserve wasn't met.

That's very impressive.  :yike:

What a monster. I hunted for Moose in that area in 2019 and seen probably 150+ goats in 10 days. In one sitting I had 25 goats in my spotter on the same mountain.

Mountain goat is at the very top of my list of bucket list animals, although the horns have never drawn me it's the hair and their habitat. That being said...  :yike: that is a monster of a monster
